Thanksgiving 2

During Thanksgiving this year some family members were talking about my cousin's new girlfriend. They used logos in their argument by saying that she is to young for him (she is). However, another family member defended him by saying "Why does it matter to us?" My family member was right, why does this concern us. He will probably end up breaking up with her in a few months anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Today I will be able to see my moms side of the family like every Thanksgiving, however today I get to see my cousin for the first time in over a year since he moved out to Las Veges,NV.

However, last night while I was with my parents and neighbors having a little dinner, my neighbors daughter's got a text message from some friends letting her know a fellow classmate was killed in a car crash no more then 2 miles from where we were at. The same neighbor was driving back to dinner after she picked up her older daughter from work and saw the accident.

Into The Wild

Today I was able to watch one of my favorite movies of all-time. This movie is called "Into The Wild". The movie was directed by Sean Penn and it started Emile Hirsch It is about a young man who runs away from his life and starts a new one by traveling the country. His goal is to get to Alaska and live in the wild on nothing but bare essentials. Well living in Alaska he comes upon an abandoned bus.

This is the bus that he lived in for over 100 days.

UFC 123

Last night I watched UFC 123. The main events were Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida and B.J. Penn vs. Matt Hughes. The first fight was in the Light Heavyweight division and the other in Middleweight. Penn vs. Hughes was the first fight of the main events. This fight only lasted 0:21 seconds in the first round due to KO (punches). This was one of the fastest KO's I have seen. Penn won the "Knockout of the Night" award and a $80,000 bonus. The other main event was little bit longer, it lasted all 3 rounds. Jackson won via split decision.

Boardwalk Empire

 Last weekend I went home cause my parents were out of town. I didnt throw a party cause i have been sick for the last week. But i did have some friends over just to hangout. A friend that came over told me about this show on HBO that he loves. The show is called "Boardwalk Empire". This show is based during Prohibition in the 1920's and the gang related crimes in the city of Atlantic City.

I already heard of this show when it came out awhile ago. This has become one of my favorite shows of all time. however, it will never replace my favorite show WEEDS, unless they do more then 2 seasons.

Obama

Obama's approval rating went from 45% to 46% in a couple weeks. His health care reform bill has caused America to be in more debt now than any other president in history has put us in.

Fantasy Football

This week I may have made one of the best pick ups of all time. On one of my teams I have 2 quarterbacks, Tony Romo (out) and Donovan McNabb. This week is McNabb's bye week so I needed a quarterback. I decided to pick up Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Buffalo Bills. So far today he hasn't been that bad of a pick up.

Lil' Wayne is now free. Apparently the place to be is Miami because thats where he is going to have his party.

Public Writing

The policy i am choosing is the use of green energy and the investment that is need. I choose this policy because Ball State is going through the process of putting geothermal through out the campus. The use of green energy has been on the rise for quite sometime. Green energy in the long road saves the user a large amount money. The only problem is that the costs of the installation is not cheap.

As i am typing this blog post i am currently in math 111. my professor is talking about parabolas and transverse axis. this class is boring.

Recession

I just found out the other day that one of my best friends is losing his because his parents are not making enough money. Recently, his dad lost his job as a real estate agent because of the shitty market and he was a used car salesman until the place he was working at closed down. My friend has two younger brothers who are now living with his grandparents. The funny thing is that my friend kept this from me and my two other friends (we call ourselves the 4 amigos) for the last 3 months.

Fantasy Football

Today my fantasy football is going to have trouble getting points. My main team has so many people injured and my other team isn't that strong. I need a miracle Tony Romo.

Ultimate Vacation

A friend of mine recently asked me if i had $25,000 to spend on a vacation what would i do and where would i go. I thought about it for a while. I decide i would travel every country in the world. i would start in Europe and then go to Africa. I would then go to the Middle East. After that i would go Asia and then i would hit Australia. After that i would hit South America and travel back home.

Home Sweet Home

Last weekend i went home to watch college football with my friends and watch the Colts game with my family. For the colts game my neighbor made Louisiana Gumbo. He makes gumbo every other Colts and it gets better every time he makes it. I asked him what was his secret to making the gumbo and told me that its all in the simmer.

For the first in my life i finished a paper on time. I was happy that i did this.

John Mellencamp

So I just found out John Mellencamp is going to be at IU this November for a concert. I saw John at the end of July last year while I was on vacation down in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was there with Bob Dlyan and Willie Nelson, all of them were on Bob Dylan's tour. Earlier in the summer two of my best friends went to the same concert up in South Bend, but I couldn't go because I didn't have enough money. However I got the best deal because I found out that a friend of my parents brother-in-law is actually part of John Mellencamps band. So I got two free tickets and two backstage passes and the concert wasn't that bad. So hopefully I can get the samething this time.

Best Places to Eat on Campus

I have finally eaten at every place that I know of on campus. For the most the same food is available at each place expect for one. I am grade each place the following; differents types of food, how good the food is, and availabe seating. That is the Atrium, even thou its not the number one on my list it is number two. The Atrium has Chic-Fil-A, that is enough said and there is nice outdoor seating. My number three is the Student Center food court, "The Tally." I like this place because there is Taco Bell and a Starbucks, along with the basic other types of foods. However, my number one is Woodworth. Woodworth is the best place to eat on campus for many reasons. These reasons are; vareity of food, good food, and lots of seating.

Reggie Bush

Today I was watching ESPN and a news report broke out that said that Reggie Bush forefited his Heisman Trophy from 2005. The reason for this was that of the allegations of him recieving illegel benifits during his tenure at USC. I personally think Reggie did the right thing. If i got busted for cheating in sports and i had many awards for being one of the best I would be the bigger man and give them back. I then found out that Vince Young believes he deserves the world. I personally disagree with this because of the wide gap in votes between the both of them. I am not a USC fan and I am not a big fan of Reggie Bush but this is one of the few times I can say I like Reggie Bush.

Weekend

This weekend was one for the ages for me. My weekend started after my history class on Friday. After my history class i had to take taxi to Indianapolis airport so I could catch a 4 o'clock plane to Phoenix. The reason why i went to Phoenix was that my brothers wife went into labor 2 months early. He called me Thursday night and told me that I should be on a plane by Friday afternoon. He told me that there was a chance that the baby may not make it and that I was going to be a godfather. The worst part about all of this was that I didn't have my laptop charger or my cell phone charger. Overall, my niece got better, but she is going to be in hospital.

new nickname

so i have offically been nicknamed "Big Diesel" by the guys on my floor. E3 is the "bees knees" ladies and gentlemen. our floor does not mess around either, we are the finest on BSU campus. so you guys can call me "Big Diesel", "Diesel", "Weav", or just Nick in class.

First post

well hey hey...this is my first blog post of all time. so i guess people who use blogs pour out their heart and soul on this, well i am not going to do that cause i just think thats a little weird and too personal if you know what i mean. so what i am going to do on this first post to let every one know what happened this weekend. this weekend i saw a fight break out between two chicks over a guy. on the outskrits of the fight people were placing bets on which girl would win. i was one of these people placing bet and won $40. sounds like a good weekend to me.
